The C.A.A. President Su Pollard...
Following an apprenticeship at the Arts Theatre in Nottingham, Su appeared on Opportunity Knocks in 1974 and came second to a singing Jack Russel dog!
She went on to direct musicals and make numerous appearances in plays.
Pollard’s first TV comedy role was in a BBC series screened in 1979 entitled Two Up, Two Down in which she played a hippy named Flo. Later that year came the pilot programme for a new BBC comedy written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft set in a holiday camp. Pollard landed the role of chalet maid Peggy Ollerenshaw in Hi-de-Hi. She continued in this role until the programme’s end in 1988. During the run of Hi-de-Hi Su also had a singing career, and in 1986, she reached No. 2 in the UK singles chart with the song “Starting Together”,
She starred in the stage production of Hi-de-Hi- playing sell out seasons in Bournemouth, London and Blackpool. In 1985 she played Sally in the West End production of Me and My Girl at the Adelphi Theatre which she appeared in for over a year.
Su went on to star as Ivy Teasdale in You Rang M’Lord which ran from 1988 to 1993. In 1993, she won the “Rear of the year” award.
From 1995 to 1997 she played Ethel Schumann in another David Croft sitcom On Doctor Beeching
Su went on to appear in numerous shows, plays, on TV and concerts and has been described in the press as”a national treasure. “. She recently completed a mammoth UK 2024/25 tour of her one woman show.

A long standing member and supporter of the CAA, Nick began his acting career in theatre at the age of 7, when he appeared in the West End transfer of An Inspector Calls. Many roles followed but he is most famous for his role as the lad in Goodnight Mr. Tom. This won several awards including the BAFTA for the Most Popular TV programme in 1998.
Other television appearances include Midsomer Murders, Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Urban Gothic and Down to Earth. Nick is also much in demand as a producer.
